Before actually planting the seedlings in the garden bed or in a patio or balcony container, you should get them used to outdoor conditions. Adjust the young plants by placing them outside, in their pots, around the middle of the day. Don't overexpose them, especially at first, but gradually increase the time they are left out in the fresh air. Be sure to bring them indoors whenever frost seems likely, especially overnight In one way or another, expose your seedlings to lower temperatures for about two weeks before setting them out in the garden bed.
