Plants are living things, and they need what they need. Planting a shade-loving plant in the hot sun or a drought-loving plant in a wet spot is a recipe for failure. Note: At times, it makes sense to change conditions to accommodate plants that normally wouldn't be happy in that particular spot, but it's far wiser, easier, and more sustainable to choose plants that will be happy with things as they are.
