Action ► See S. roxburghiana. Leaves and rhizomes are applied externally in high fever with delirium.

Rhizomes—diuretic, diaphoretic, expectorant.

The leaf contains aconitic acid; the root yielded an alkaloid sansevierine (0.018%).
