The plant contains pentasaccharide glucoside of ethyl-11-hydroxy hexade-canoate. The seeds contain alkaloids, ipomine, isoipomine, methoxyipo-mine, dimethoxyipomine, ipalkidini-um, ipalbidine and ipalbine.
