Ayurvedic ► Jhaau, Vilaayati Jhaau.

Siddha/Tamil ► Savukku.

Action ► Bark—astringent, an-tidiarrhoeal. Leaf—antispasmodic, used in colic. Aerial parts— hypoglycaemic.

The plant contains kaempferol gly-coside, quercetin glycoside, cupressu-flavone, tannins, shikimic acid, quinic acid, amino acids, sugars.
