Action ► Bark—antibilious, antiasthmatic. Leaf—stomachic, styptic (for bleeding gum), antiseptic (for scalding of urine). A decoction of young leaves is taken for body pain, headache and fever.
The bark contains tannin 9%, lupe-
ol and alpha-spinasterol. Stem yields sitosterol.
